Sync your people data, keep anonymity intact

  • You decide who gets transferred

    When you set the sync up, you define which employees it covers and which it does not. What comes across is what Honestly needs to invite people and analyse the results: whatever the invitation is delivered to, plus attributes such as team, location and role.

  • Segment without giving up anonymity

    Results are only ever shown once a minimum number of answers is in. The threshold sits at five by default, can be adjusted per survey and set higher again for open text. A team of three therefore shows up in no report at all - however fine-grained the structure from your HR system is.

  • ISO 27001, GDPR, servers in Germany

    Honestly and our data centres are ISO 27001 certified and hosting is in Germany. Your admins see which subprocessors are used and approve them in the account; the DPA is in place from the start of the contract.

How Honestly plugs into your system landscape

  • HR system through a connector

    SAP, Workday, Personio, HiBob, SD Worx, Azure AD and a hundred more systems sync up to twice a day. You decide which employees are transferred and which are not. The attributes that come across are what you build the groups from that get invited per feedback channel.

  • Native REST API

    Keep your people data in sync straight through our API. Your admins create and revoke the keys themselves in the account.

  • Automated SFTP import

    Drop your file via SFTP and Honestly imports it automatically. A plausibility check holds back imports with an unusual number of changes and emails you before any damage is done.

  • Single sign-on through your identity provider

    Sign in via SAML 2.0 or Azure AD with the accounts your IT already manages. Your rules for strong authentication apply through your identity provider - Honestly does not bring a two-factor method of its own.

What IT wants to know before connecting

  • Which HR systems can we connect?

    The connectors are ready to link in your account, among them SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Personio, HiBob, SD Worx, BambooHR, HRworks, Factorial, Deel, Oracle HCM, Hailey HR, Sesame HR and Azure AD. On top of that come the automated CSV import via SFTP and our REST API for anything without a ready-made connector.

  • Which employee data is transferred - and who decides that?

    What gets transferred is the core data needed to invite people and analyse the results: whatever the invitation is delivered to, plus attributes such as team, location and role for segmentation. You decide which employees are transferred and which are not. Honestly and our data centres are ISO 27001 certified, hosting is in Germany and the DPA is in place from the start of the contract - the details for your data protection review are on Security and data protection.

  • How often is the data synced?

    The connector syncs up to twice a day. With the SFTP import the import starts as soon as your file lands in the directory, and through the REST API you write changes straight into your account. That way your surveys run on your current org structure instead of a list from last quarter.

  • What happens if an import file is faulty?

    A plausibility check looks at every import before it is applied. If an unusual number of changes shows up - because a column slipped in the export, for instance - the import stops and you get an email before any damage is done.

  • Our HR system has no ready-made connector. Can we still connect?

    Yes, in two ways. Through our native REST API you keep your people data in sync directly; your admins create and revoke the keys themselves in the account. Or you drop your file via SFTP and Honestly imports it automatically. Which of these routes your plan includes is set out in the feature comparison on the pricing page.

  • Can we invite people to surveys through Microsoft Teams and Slack?

    Yes. You connect Microsoft Teams through your tenant ID and Slack directly - invitations and reminders then run through the channel your teams already work in. The other routes, including those for employees without a company mailbox, are on Feedback channels.

  • Do you support single sign-on?

    Yes, via SAML 2.0 or Azure AD. Sign-in then runs through your identity provider, where your own rules for strong authentication apply - Honestly does not bring a two-factor method of its own. What else comes with 500 employees and up is on Enterprise features.

  • Can we pull the results into our own BI tool?

    Yes, our export API feeds survey results into your own reporting stack, next to attrition or performance data for example. The BI integration is part of the Enterprise plan - the current feature comparison is on the pricing page. What the analysis in Honestly itself already covers is shown on Reporting and dashboards.
